Consider this: What’s the biggest reason millions of people log onto the internet each day? The answer is simple – they’re looking for information. This is so ubiquitous a quest that Google handles 400 million queries a day! Why should you care? It means that you have a massive opportunity to give people exactly what they’re looking for – information. And when done correctly, you can get paid for it, too!
What is info marketing?
First of all, an info business is the least complex business possible. You develop a product that is nothing more than information. And other people buy this product to get the info. It couldn’t get much simpler.
But how does it all work?
OK, the concept is simple. In order to be successful people need to want the information you’re providing. So step one is to discover what kind of info people want. How do you figure that out?
One easy way to figure it out is with a simple search. Visit answers.yahoo.com or similar sites and see what kinds of questions people are asking. You’re looking for popular questions or common themes. For things that are causing people discomfort. And provide the answer – in the form of an info product.
Think about this:
Don’t worry! Info product creation is easy… Consider this: An ebook is just a series of articles. So instead of sitting down to write the whole thing, just write some articles for your blog. And when you have a collection, expand and embellish them and put them together into an ebook.
Why info products? Interestingly enough, we’re back to the name of this article. Here are the seven reasons
1. Simplicity and ease
As soon as you have the pieces in place, it’s virtually maintenance free. And your customers need very little support. So it’s nearly a 100% hands-free business. It’s like having an automated cash machine.
You have no physical inventory. There’s nothing to ship. It’s all delivered online.
2. Repackaging
When you have created a few information products. You can put together bigger more expensive information products. It’s nothing to combine the content from several ebooks. And you’ll be able to charge much more for this “new” product. There’s greater perceived value in a single big course, versus multiple smaller ones.
3. Private label right
Since it’s your product, you can offer other people the resale rights. Recently, resell rights have become extremely popular, because most people simply don’t have the time, money and effort it takes to create their own products. And what’s more you get to charge two to three time as much for these rights.
4. Leverage
It’s your content, so you can use it in as many different ways as you want. Break it apart and create a multi-part email series with it. And build your list with it. A list is it’s own reward!
5. More leverage
You can also take parts of your ebook and turn it into smaller eBooks. These reports can then become lead generators for your ebook. They can be free or low priced. And you’re creating targeted leads for your main product all along. You can even make these viral by allowing your affiliates to give them away. Wait, did I say “affiliates”?
6. Affiliates
This one is huge. Once you have your own product. You’re able to let other people market it for you. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a bunch of other people doing your marketing for you? You can’t do this unless you have your own product.
7. JVs
Last, but definitely not least… Setting up joint ventures is the fastest way to gain success. Period. So, I’d say this is the most important reason to have you own products. No products of your own = no way to do joint ventures.
Summing it up
If you’re not convinced to start selling information products, then you’ve probably been sleeping. You’ll be the master of your destiny. Because you’re the boss! So, decide to just start:
- Visit an “answers” site
- Discover what questions are being asked
- Start writing
The steps on how to write an ebook are really that easy. And in no time you’ll have an info product ready to go.
